AFTER
The whole roofline, not just the boards
Nothing dates a house like a black-streaked, algae-green roofline above clean walls and windows, and because it’s up at the roof edge, it’s the one part you can never reach yourself. A proper roofline clean covers all of it: the fascia boards your gutters fix to, the soffit panels underneath, and the exterior face of the guttering. Bringing the whole line back to white is one of the most dramatic, lowest-cost improvements you can make to the front of a home.
Around here it matters more than most places. North-facing elevations, shaded spots under trees and the damp valley air around the Cam and Stort all speed up algae and lichen growth, so local rooflines green up faster than the walls below them. A clean once a year keeps on top of it; shaded or tree-lined plots may want it more often.
Gentle on uPVC, finished by hand
We use a reach-and-wash pole to clear the bulk of the grime, then hand-finish from a properly footed ladder for a streak-free result on every board and panel. The method is deliberately gentle, no harsh pressure that could force water behind the boards or strip paint, so it’s safe on uPVC, coated aluminium and painted timber alike.
We’re based in Henham and fully insured for working at height. And if we spot a cracked board or a slipped soffit while we’re up there, you get told plainly and shown a photo. Then you decide. No pressure, no invented faults.
One visit beats three separate trips
Since we’re already at the roofline, fascias and soffits pair naturally with gutter cleaning, same ladder, same visit. If the windows need doing too, the full exterior package bundles windows, gutters and the roofline into one visit from £120 and saves around £40 against booking them separately. Shops and units get the same job under our commercial cleaning service. If you are not sure which part is which, what a fascia and soffit clean involves spells it out. Greg has been cleaning windows round here since 2022, and Ascent Exterior Cleaning has been running since 2024. Every job is still done by him, not a subcontractor.
Prices are based on the front and back roofline of a standard house; conservatories and extensions are quoted as an extra. Check we cover your area and ask for a quote. It’s fixed before we start, and it doesn’t change after.
What Our Customers Say
5.0 · from 12 Google reviewsReasonable price. Had the fascias and soffits cleaned and the house looks brand new. Great job on the windows also.
Greg did a fantastic job cleaning our windows and gutters. He was a pleasure to deal with throughout.
Amazing clean every single time, we also asked for the gutters to be done this time, they look brand-new. No mess left on the floor, always the perfect clean.
Common Questions
The fascia is the vertical board along the roofline that your gutters fix to; the soffit is the panel underneath that bridges back to the wall. We clean both, plus the exterior face of the guttering. The whole roofline.
The black streaks are algae and grime. We remove them with a gentle clean that's safe for all fascia and soffit materials, including uPVC and painted wood.
It's algae. North-facing elevations, shaded spots under trees and damp air all speed it up. A roofline clean removes it.
Typically 2–3 hours for a standard 3-bed property.
