Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

1. Who we are

Ascent Exterior Cleaning is a sole trader providing exterior cleaning services in Saffron Walden and surrounding areas of Essex. For the purposes of UK data protection law, we are the data controller for any personal data you provide to us.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at: hello@ascentexteriors.co.uk

2. What data we collect

We only collect personal data that you provide voluntarily via our quote request form:

We also collect postcodes entered into our area checker tool. This is not linked to any personal identity and is used solely to check service coverage.

3. Why we collect it and our legal basis

We collect your contact details to prepare and deliver your quote, and to follow up on your enquiry. Our legal basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interests — you have contacted us to request a service, and processing your details to respond is a necessary and expected part of that interaction.

We will not use your details to send marketing messages unless you have separately opted in to receive them.

4. How your data is stored

Quote submissions are stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform. Data is stored in data centres within the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom. Supabase processes data in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.

We do not store payment information. We use Google Analytics cookies only if you accept them via our cookie banner — see section 8.

5. How long we keep your data

We retain quote enquiry data for up to 12 months from the date of submission. After this period, records are deleted. If we enter into a service arrangement with you, we may retain relevant contact information for the duration of that arrangement and for up to 6 years afterwards to satisfy legal and accounting obligations.

6. Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data may be processed by the following service providers strictly for the purpose of operating our business:

We require all service providers to process your data only on our instructions and in accordance with UK GDPR.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@ascentexteriors.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies & analytics

Strictly necessary. Our website may use a strictly necessary session token if you interact with our quote form — this is required for the form to function and does not track you across other websites. It does not require your consent.

Google Analytics (analytics cookies). We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site — for example which pages are viewed and how people arrive — so we can improve it. This sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<id>, which can last up to two years. We do not use analytics data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Your choice comes first. Analytics is switched off by default. Google Consent Mode keeps it disabled until you select “Accept” on our cookie banner, so no analytics cookie is set unless you opt in. If you select “Reject”, no analytics cookies are used and any existing ones are cleared. Our lawful basis for analytics cookies is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and PECR).

Changing your mind. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of any page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use Meta Pixel or any advertising or re-targeting trackers.

9. Third-party links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites (such as Google Maps or social media platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

10. How to complain

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's data protection regulator:

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
Website: ico.org.uk
Helpline: 0303 123 1113

We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly before you contact the ICO.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. We will notify you of any material changes where we hold your contact details.
