A conservatory roof is flat-ish, shaded for part of the day and rarely rained on hard enough to self-clean. Perfect conditions for moss and algae. Polycarbonate roofs are the worst for it and can turn visibly green within a single season, especially on the damp, tree-shaded plots common around the villages here. The result is a dim, dirty room below and a tired-looking roof from the garden.

Once a year keeps most conservatory roofs clear. Shaded or damp positions, under trees, north-facing, or in the lower spots near the rivers. Green up faster and may benefit from a more frequent clean. We’ll give you an honest recommendation for yours, not book visits you don’t need.

Glass and polycarbonate, handled differently

We clean both, with the method matched to the material: a deliberately gentle approach for polycarbonate, which scratches more easily, and a streak-free pure-water finish on glass. Either way the aim is the same, clear the growth, restore the light, and leave the room underneath noticeably brighter.
